Panera Bakery-Cafe Opens in Huntington Beach
One of our family’s favorite restaurants is Panera. We are excited that a new Panera Bread Bakery-Cafe has opened in Huntington Beach at the SeaCliff Village Shopping Center, Main St. at Yorktown. It’s where the old Oggi’s used to be. My son and I attended the opening and met with David and Lisa from Pride Bakeries, Panera franchisee. We also met the store manager Sarah Hurley. The place was packed but the staff still managed to get our orders in and offer service with a smile. I can definitely see Panera as the go-to destination for nearby Huntington Beach High School students doing homework and home-based Huntington Beach entrepreneurs gathering for meetings.
David Babbush, Panera Bread franchisee and Pride Bakeries Operating Partner, shared with Surf City Family that Panera Bread Huntington Beach has teamed up with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County to help raise funds for the fight against food insecurity. According to David, “Pride Bakeries will donate $1 to Second Harvest Food Bank for each guest who registers for the MyPanera® loyalty program at the new Huntington Beach location from July 31, 2013 through September 30, 2013.” Pride Bakeries will donate $1.00 for each eligible new MyPanera member up to a maximum donation of $2,000.You must obtain a MyPanera card at the Huntington Beach bakery-cafe and you must register the card.
David added:“Huntington Beach is a community that truly embraces Panera’s ‘Live Consciously. Eat Deliciously.’ values. We are thrilled to serve our guests at this new location and proud to support local hunger relief efforts with the help of our customers.”
Did you know that for years, Panera has donated unsold bread and baked goods to local Southern California hunger relief organizations through its Day-End Dough-Nation™ and Community Breadbox™ programs. Now how cool is that? Not only do they serve delicious food and drinks but they are also socially conscious. With its identity rooted in handcrafted, freshly-baked, artisan bread, Panera Bread is committed to providing great tasting, quality food that people can trust. Nearly all its bakery-cafes have a menu highlighted by antibiotic-free chicken, whole grain bread, and select organic and all-natural ingredients, with zero grams of artificial trans fat per serving, which provide flavorful, wholesome offerings.
