Skate Competitions and OId Skool Demos in Downtown Huntington Beach this Weekend
Heads up, skaters! This Saturday, September 14th, from 8am to 12 noon, the California Amateur Skateboard League (C.A.S.L.) will host C.A.S.L City Jams – a low cost contest event for skaters of all ages, at Main St. and Olive St. in Downtown Huntington Beach.
The entry fee is $25 and includes all events, t-shirt, sponsors’ gift bag and raffle ticket. Events include: street, best trick and game of skate. For more information, visit casulf.com
CASL was founded in 1982 by skater parents, Frank Hawk, Sonja Catalano and Jeanne Hoffman. The league aims to promote the sport of skateboarding as both a recreational and serious athletic endeavor to skaters of all ages. The group emphasizes the community aspect of skateboarding by providing skaters and their families with safe and fun skateboarding environment.
Also happening in Downtown Huntington Beach on Saturday, September 14 from 12nn to 4pm at Main St. and Walk, is the 2nd Annual Old Skool Skate Session presented by HB Culture Magazine and McKenna Volkswagen Surf City. The event will be hosted by Christian Hosoi and Dave Duncan with live music by The Originalites and Mo DJ. Old Skool Skate Session is part of the Surf City Days weekend celebration, wherein Huntington Beach locals get to take back the beach, so to speak.
