UPDATE: Community Service Programs will be collecting donations to its Change for Change campaign until July 1st, 2014! Donations can be dropped off at anytime (though it’d be great if people can call beforehand at 714-842-6600) to the CSP HB Youth Shelter, in the form of change, checks and credit card. People can also request to be included in a shelter tour throughout the month of July if they would like to learn more about the great work CSP does on behalf of children in need in the community.

Nonprofit Community Service Programs (CSP) is closing its annual Change for Change campaign to support its Huntington Beach Youth Shelter. This annual community-wide campaign asks all those who can to spare some change! All change will make a difference. This is a great way to help a local community resource and offers anybody the chance to be a donor to a great cause. AND – maybe we can even make the largest pile of change in Huntington Beach history!

CSP’s Huntington Beach Youth Shelter is an emergency crisis and intervention program for children ages 11 to 17, which provides emergency shelter to homeless, runaway, abused and struggling youth and focuses on reuniting children with their families and helping them find lasting solutions to very complex problems. The Youth Shelter’s program aims to achieve the following goals: family strengthening and reunification, homeless prevention, diversion of at-risk youth from the juvenile justice system, and school drop-out prevention. Over the last eight years, more than 800 homeless and runaway youth have been served at the CSP Huntington Beach Youth Shelter, with nearly 90 percent reunited with their parents or families. In addition to providing youth with a safe haven and protection from the dangers of the streets, the Shelter also provides youth and their families with professional comprehensive services including outreach and prevention.
