Pacific City Sneak Peek and HB Junior Guards Donation

To celebrate a Century of Surf during the recent US Open of Surfing, DJM Capital Partners, the developers of Pacific City, had a little soiree at the construction site. The super casual coastal chic event was catered by Bear Flag, with cocktails by Pharmacie from LA, Almond Surfboards on display, live painting, a ceviche/oyster bar , and a DJ. It was a great way for Huntington Beach locals to get a sneak peek at the latest shopping, dining and lifestyle destination in Orange County!

The highlight of the event was the check presentation by DJM Capital Partners, Inc to the Huntington Beach Junior Guard program. DJM made a $2,500 donation. The monies will fund scholarships for the world-renowned Huntington Beach Junior Guard program, which draws more than 1,100 youth from around the world each summer and includes exchange programs with Germany, Australia, and New Zealand. DJM’s partners John Miller, Eric Sahn and Lindsay Parton presented the check to representatives from the Huntington Beach Lifeguards – including Mike Eich who heads the Junior Guards program – at a ceremony on July 31 that celebrated Pacific City and a century of surfing in Surf City, USA. “Pacific City aspires to capture the things that make Huntington Beach one of the best places to live, and visit, in the world,” said Lindsay Parton, DJM’s President. “Every day, we are inspired by this wonderful city, by our project’s incomparable oceanfront location, and by watching the lifeguards who work tirelessly for the safety and well-being of our community. We are thrilled to support their efforts with this gift.”

In addition to inspiring the Pacific City development team with their bravery and service, the Huntington Beach Lifeguards also have provided inspiration for the centerpiece of the development – Lot 579, an artisan food hall named after Lifeguard Towers 5, 7, and 9 that stand proudly on the beach in front of Pacific City. The Pacific City project, which encompasses world-class shopping, dining, and entertainment, as well as a hotel and luxury apartment residences, is set to open in late 2015 (retail/shopping/entertainment) through 2016 (hotel and apartments). DJM Capital Partners, by the way, are the developers of Bella Terra also in Huntington Beach.
