Grain Games Art Exhibit and Contest Presented by Statements and Woodsnap

The last time Statements Magazine held a party at Rainwater Gallery in Downtown Huntington Beach, it was quite the party! This Saturday, expect another epic event, when the Statements presents the Grain Games, an art exhibit and competition in cooperation with Woodsnap. Some of our own Surf City Family contributing photographers like Joe Katchka and Larry Tenney are participating, along with artists Joe Vickers, Max Preasure and Nathan Gibbs, as well as photographers Kurt Steinmetz and Nick Tellez, among others.

Here’s more info about the event from the official press release:

Introducing the Grain Games, a WOODSNAP and STATEMENTS event being held to showcase the incredible artists, graphic designers and photographers of Southern California. Forty local artists will be chosen to participate in an art exhibit open to the public at the Rainwater Art Gallery. By the end of the night, one lucky artist will be walking away with $2,500 in WOODSNAP wood prints, a personal wall to display his or her prints at Rainwater Art gallery, and a feature in STATEMENTS MAGAZINE.

The event will be held on Saturday, March 25 from 5 PM – 9 PM at Rainwater Art Gallery (526 Main St, Huntington Beach, California 92648). It will be free to the public with complimentary beer, wine and grub provided by Four Sons Brewery, Wahoo’s Fish Taco and Cabo Chips.

Each person attending the event will be given one free vote for their favorite featured artist. Raffle tickets will be available for sale for an extra vote in the contest and a chance to win some awesome prizes provided by the event sponsors. The proceeds from the raffle will go towards a “Children’s Mini Monet class” and a coastal clean-up for local beaches. According to organizer and Statements Magazine publisher, Rory Russell: “We care about our community and the artists that breathe life into the beach cities we call home.”
