MIDWAY OF MADNESS

Halloween Midway of Madness Haunted House in Huntington Beach

Pennywise has got nothing on Mike Castro, whose clown-themed Midway of Madness Haunted House in Huntington Beach draws Halloween fans from as far as Mission Viejo. According to Mike: “This year we celebrate our 5th year of the Midway of Madness haunted house in Huntington Beach. I was born October 27th, and have always loved Halloween, so when I bought my first home, I was anxious to go all out.“
Mike continues: “We started small and had so much fun with it, that each year we have made the scare bigger and better. Our theme has always been clown based and we build off that each year. We start building the end of September and usually work right up until show time. I am fortunate to have friends and family members that are willing to help each year and have grown to love the scene as much as I do. The crew of haunters consists of my wife, my daughter, cousins, parents, myself and close friends that volunteer a lot of their time each year to set up and scare for 4 straight hours every night we are open during the Halloween season. My oldest daughter is 10 years old and one of our best haunters.”

ROGERS DRIVE HAUNTED HOUSE

Neighbors Jeff and Russell share a love of Halloween. And that’s how they ended up collaborating on the annual Rogers Drive Haunted House, now on its seventh year! This year’s theme is “Dead and Brekfast,” and they will be open one night only, On Halloween, 10/31/17 at 7pm. According to Russell: “What started as pop-up tents and black plastic hanging from paracord to create our maze, has become a full wood-walled house with usually 4-5 rooms/scenes and scares. And every year, it’s something different. Survive all the way through and you get a full-size candy bar. It’s become more and more popular each year.
