CHEF BRUNO SERATO IS CELEBRITY CHEF AT TASTE OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
Well-known philanthropist, chef, and Huntington Beach local joins Taste of Huntington Beach, an event benefitting the Children’s Library of Huntington Beach
The Taste of Huntington Beach announced that this year’s celebrity guest is none other than Chef Bruno Serato: CNN Hero, Philanthropist, Author and Owner of the landmark Anaheim White House.
Serato, a longtime resident of Huntington Beach, is recognized internationally for his work feeding underprivileged children. He and his mother Caterina co-founded Caterina’s Club, an award-winning nonprofit that provides warm meals, affordable housing assistance, and job training to homeless and low-income families throughout Southern California. Through Caterina’s Club, Serato feeds more than 3,500 children daily. For his humanitarian work, Serato has earned international acclaim with profiles in People Magazine, the CBS Evening News and newspapers, and magazines around the world. He has accepted numerous honors: a CNN Heroes award, knighthood by the Italian government, a papal blessing from Pope Francis and a humanitarian award on the steps of the U.S. Capitol.
Serato was recognized by the Good News Foundation and accepted numerous proclamations, Man of the Year awards and other distinguished sign honors—all of which he accepts to generate public awareness of the needs of our most vulnerable population—our children.
According to Dan Page, chair of the Taste, “We are excited and honored to have Chef Bruno join us at this year’s Taste. He is well-respected in the restaurant industry and in the nonprofit world. His dedication to feeding needy children through Caterina’s Club resonates with us. He feeds children’s hungry bodies, while our mission at the Friends of the Children’s Library is to feed their minds!”
At the Taste of Huntington Beach, Sir Bruno Serato will be the featured guest at our VIP reception, mingle with guests and sign copies of his new book, The Power of Pasta: A Celebrity Chef’s Mission to Feed America’s Hungry Children.
