Father’s Day Weekend in Surf City

Celebrate Father’s Day this weekend by attending “Chili at the Beach,” the annual chili cook-off event in downtown Huntington Beach for the benefit of the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) programs.

The cook-off is by invitation and includes local restaurant chefs’ chili dishes that the public can sample and vote for. The cook-off takes place between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The Chili Cook-off is free to watch, however, if you want to sample chili “tastes” you will need to purchase a wristband. $10 Pre-sale tickets are available for purchase tomorrow night (Tuesday) during Surf City Nights at the Information Booth on Main Street. The event is sponsored by the Huntington Beach Downtown Business Improvement District (HBDBID).

Chili at the Beach will take place on Saturday, June 18 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) programs.

On Sunday, June 19th, the Huntington Beach Symphony Orchestra will host an old-fashioned sing along at the Huntington Central Library Theater. They will perform a variety of numbers including Disney classics, opera and patriotic tunes. Tickets are $25 each. For tickets, call: 714.274.5524 or visit hbsymphony.org
