Rubber Ducky, you’re the one!

It’s that time of year when rubber ducks dominate Downtown Huntington Beach.  It’s the Annual Duck-A-Thon™ –the three-day event which raises funds for AltaMed’s Huntington Beach Community Clinic. The clinic is where thousands of uninsured and medically underserved patients are treated every year.

According to the Duckathon website, “Each year the Duck-A-Thon™ has a new theme. This year – our 20th Anniversary – the theme is “Heart to Heart”. Our ducks will wear two red hearts signifying gratitude in our hearts for the generous hearts of our supporters since 1992.”

The Duck-A-Thon™ begins Friday evening with a Sunset Wine Tasting at the Pier. The actual Duck-A-Thon™, when rubber duckies are released to the sea, takes place all day Saturday & Sunday. There will also be a Kid Zone featuring bounce houses, games, rubber decorating and other fun activities.
