Fab Find: Salty Grom Surf Camp
With two weeks more of summer left, our kids here in Huntington Beach still have a chance to squeeze in more summer fun. And if you’ve been thinking about surf camp, here’s a camp that’s top notch – and they currently still have sessions for the weeks of August 20th and August 25th.
It’s called Salty Grom Surf Camp. The Billabong sponsored surf camp meets at Bolsa Chica State Beach and offers a program that teaches basic and intermediate surfing skills in a fun and safe way. All the instructors are C.P.R. certified and well experienced and knowledgeable about ocean life and safety. According to owner Robert Escalante, ” Our low student to instructor ratio of less than 4:1 gives a new surfer the attention they need.” Salty Grom also offers private and semi private lessons.
The camp is located at Bolsa Chica State Beach near lifeguard tower 22, just north of the main entrance. The State park allows a 10 min. grace period for student drop off and pick up. The parking fee for the day is $15.
