Congratulations to all the winners of The 5th Annual Surf City Surf Dog Competition! There were four weight-class divisions and a tandem heat. The participants were judged judged on a variety of skills, including the duration of their ride and their confidence on the board.
The top dogs in the Extra Large category were surf dog Haole who took first place, while popular boxer Hanzo took second and Turbo took third. The top dogs in the Large Category were Tillman the bulldog(who also skates), 1st Place; Louie, 2nd Place; and Libby was 3rd Place. In the Medium Category, Abbie Girl took 1st, Sugar took 2nd and newbie Beans the Whippet took 3rd place.Bentley was first place in the Small Category, followed by Kihei (2nd) and Toby (3rd).
The top tandems riders were: Kona and Kai taking the dog/person tandem while Hanzo and Kalani from Team Dog TV took the dog/dog category.
Special awards went to the following: Louie (Crowd Pleaser), Sugar (Best Wipeout) and Beans the Whippet (Best Grom).
Event sponsor Sony Electronics invited registered pawticipants to film Surf City DOGumentaries with their new Action Cam POV video camera and pet harness. Action Cams with dog mounts were available for attendees to test out.
