5 Family Fall Events in Huntington Beach
Fall is one of the best times for Huntington Beach locals. Downtown Huntington Beach and the beach are crowd-free with the peak of tourist season over. Fall festivals and community carnivals abound. Here’s a round-up of events in and around our dear Surf City.
1. 47th Annual Fall Festival
at St. Simon and St. Jude
Friday, October 4, 2013 through Sunday, October 6, 2013
According to the St. Simon and St. Jude website: “The Fall Festival is a social and fund-raising event, in honor of the Feast of St. Francis, utilizing the talents of many volunteers to create a clean, safe, environment featuring rides, games, food, entertainment and more, where the parish family and the neighboring community can celebrate with one another.”
2. Family Dinner Night at Local Schools

Both Peterson and Moffett Elementary Schools are celebrating their Fall Festivals on October 18th. Expect carnival games, raffles, talent shows and lots of other fun activities for the family.
3. FREE Pumpkin Patch Party at the Beach
Saturday, October 19, 2013, 10 am to 4pm
The Coldwell Banker – Campbell Realtors present the 3rd Annual “FREE Pumpkin Patch” at 1720 PCH (corner of 18th St) in Downtown Huntington Beach (On PCH between Goldenwest Street & the HB Pier).
Every child receives a FREE Pumpkin (1,000 to give away); other activities include carnival games, face painting, balloon creations, a DJ spinning creepy tunes and raffle prizes. Proceeds from games, auction and raffle prizes will benefit the HB Educational Foundation and your Huntington Beach school.
4. Oktoberfest at Old World

There are various weekly events at this interesting Euro-inspired center. Weiner dog races and other fun events for grown-ups to partake in this annual German tradition. For families, however, there is Kinderfest on Sundays. For more information, visit: oldworld.ws
5. HalloweenFest in Downtown Huntington Beach
Thursday, October 31, 2013 5-9pm
Thousands come to experience Halloween on Main St. There will be kids entertainment, a petting zoo, pony rides, bounce houses, trick or treat downtown and more. There will be a costume contest for kids AND dogs.
