9th Annual Blessing of the Waves on Sunday, September 18

Whether you are religious or not, the Annual Blessing of the Waves will move you. The Greater Huntington Beach Interfaith Council invites you to the 9th Annual Blessing of the Waves on Sunday, September 18th, at Pier Plaza on Pacific Coast Highway. The ceremony starts at 8:30 am.

Dubbed an “An hour of pure faith, and crystal clear focus on the importance of water in our lives,” here are the highlights of Sunday’s services:

  • Celebration of Life with Pastor Sumo, H20 Church
  • Celebration of Interfaith: Mark Currie, President, GHBIC
  • Celebration of Success with HBHS Surf Team with their 2016 National Championship lead by Coach Andy Verdone
  • Celebration of Water Oriented Sports with Olympian Shirley Babashoff
  • Celebration of Water with all heart & soul Rev. Anthony Boger, Pastor, Surf City United Methodist Church
  • Celebration of Community: Mayor Jim Katapodis, City of HB and all former Mayors invited + VisitHB Moment
  • Blessing of our Guests: Surfing Padre: Fr. Christian Mondor, Sts. Simon & Jude
  • Join Us: The Annual Paddle Out
