Fab Find: Beach Beauty Bar – A Day Spa

At a nondescript building at the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and 12th Street in Huntington Beach, you will find a secret oasis, called Beach Beauty Bar. We stumbled upon the place one day after seeing a few Instagram posts and spotting the cute wrapped smart car on the driveway. Beach Beauty Bar is a boutique-style spa that specializes in easy breezy waxing, results-oriented skin care, and relaxing treatments for individuals and groups. That’s what it says on their website. But walking up the back way to Suite C, you will see that it’s more than just that. It is a day spa with a view of the ocean in its massage room and a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Owner Rene Brookbank, an aesthetician, has created a pretty space that not only provides waxing, facial and massage services but also, serves as an escape!

Beach Beauty Bar’s rooftop deck is the perfect place to host a spa party or in our case, a mini-date for me and my hubby. We arranged for a couples massage and had hoped to hang out on the deck, before our treatments, but it rained that day. Just the same, we enjoyed the goodies that Rene and staff prepared. Champagne, cheese and cupcakes? Yes, please.

Now back to our Spa Date. But first some more wine…

Finally, it was time for a side by side massage. The treatment room is elegantly decorated just like the reception area. (Think Anthropologie with beach vibes.) There is a view of the ocean indeed but it is dark and gloomy because of the storm, so we decide to keep the shutters closed. We settle into the massage and drift into relaxation.
