Festival of Folktales

The Friends of the Children’s Library is sponsoring the Festival of Folktales event at the Huntington Beach Central Library on Tuesday, June 23, from 11 am to 3 pm. Proceeds from the event support the children’s library and book collection.
The Festival of Folktales serves as the kick-off for the summer reading programs. There will be games, book walks, face painting, music, crafts and shows. The Lions Club will be selling hot dogs and hamburgers and Chick-fil-A will be selling chicken sandwiches.
There will be special shows at the Festival of Folktales event including Cory Hills Percussionist Storyteller at 11:15 am, Jazzy Ash and the Leaping Lizards, New Orleans children’s jazz band at 12:30 pm, and the Prismatic Magic Laser Show at 2:15 pm.
Tickets for these and other special performances are available at the Central Library’s Children’s Desk for $4 each.
Carnival tickets for festival games, crafts and face painting may also be purchased at the children’s desk or during the Festival of Folktales event. Tickets are 50 cents each or 11 tickets for $5.
Summer Reading Program T-shirts will also be available for sale at $5 each.
